With 23 years in the electrical construction industry—including 18 years at SASCO—Christian Bakken has advanced through roles as Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Group Executive, and now Group President. One of his proudest accomplishments was building a two-person operation into a strong team of eight, successfully delivering projects ranging from $50,000 to $15 million, including complex design-build work. Christian leads through shared learning, creating an environment where people feel included, respected, and confident contributing their ideas. Knowing there is rarely just one way to solve a challenge, he encourages open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement. His philosophy outside of work is much the same: be your best, do your best, learn along the way, and have fun doing it. Christian and his wife of 24 years have two adult-aged children.  One attendsCal State Fullerton; the other recently joined the electrical trade. Traveling together remains a family priority. His appreciation for other cultures began when he spent a year of high school as an exchange student in Tromsø, Norway—about 215 miles north of the Arctic Circle. That experience helped shape a perspective he still carries today: work hard, enjoy the journey, and remember that life often happens between the making of plans.

Over his 26 years with SASCO, Oscar Sandoval has built a career spanning nearly every stage of a project, from Lead Designer and Project Engineer to Project Manager, Conceptual Estimating Manager, Director of Preconstruction, and now Executive Vice President of Estimating and Preconstruction.

This breadth of experience gives Oscar a unique, practical perspective on how early planning, design, and estimating decisions can shape a project’s success long before construction begins. Throughout his career, he has developed a deep understanding of the challenges involved in delivering complex projects and the importance of thoughtful planning, clear communication, and collaboration from the very beginning.

Among the many projects he has supported throughout his career, Oscar is particularly proud of his involvement with the Tom Bradley International Terminal Remodel at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Experiences like this have strengthened his belief that the strongest project outcomes come from bringing the right people together, communicating openly, and working toward a shared goal.

Oscar thrives in collaborative environments where ideas are shared openly and teams work together to find the best solutions. He believes successful projects are built not only on technical expertise, but also on strong relationships, trust, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Outside of SASCO, Oscar is devoted to his family, actively involved in his church, and a dedicated supporter of his children’s sports. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, watching sports, and traveling. Having visited more than 10 countries throughout Europe and 3 in South America, he is always looking forward to the next opportunity to explore a new destination.
