Summary

Support Project Managers in the successful execution of commercial electrical construction projects by assisting with project coordination, material procurement, scheduling, budgeting, and communication between field and office teams. This role is ideal for a motivated professional looking to grow their career in electrical construction project management.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee, direct, and be able to project electrical projects from beginning to end.
  • Read and understand weekly labor reports to project and influence labor.
  • Assist the Project Managers and others to effectively manage the projects.
  • Manage & Process material order for field.
  • Coordinate material delivery with Logistics Team and Warehouse Manager.
  • Track and monitor material backorders.
  • Process major equipment orders.
  • Arrange for rental equipment orders for the jobsites.
  • Plan with field Foreman prefabrication and electrical assemblies.
  • Coordinate Pre-fab orders with Pre-Fab shop Foreman.
  • Read and understand Estimating and budgeting electrical bids and specification analysis and review
  • Produce budgets for changes and processing them on a monthly basis for proceeds.
  • Review and submits material invoices for accounting.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to jobsite by working with suppliers for bulk purchasing, jobsite warehouse. PO’s, submittals, tracking and releases to maintain schedule.
  • Regular interaction with Superintendents, project Foreman and office staff to communicate what is going on.
  • Contribute to group meetings and project meetings.
  • Build long term customer relationships by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction, project coordination, or assistant project management.
  • Experience working with budgets up to $2mil+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Basic understanding of project budgeting, material procurement, scheduling, and change order processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with field and office personnel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Accubid, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, and applicable building codes.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing commercial electrical construction projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract management, and overall project performance. Job Duties:

  • Read and understand weekly labor reports to project and influence labor.
  • Estimate, bid, and budget electrical projects with review and analysis of job specifications.
  • Is eager and wants to learn SASCO forms, systems, reports, means and methods, and “rules” at SASCO.
  • Constant review of job reports to track labor, material, and subcontractors and overall job progress and performance. Analyze data from jobs/projects.
  • Monthly billings projected to cover materials/labor put in place with maximum values in accordance with a strategically developed schedule of values.
  • Contract management (including but not limited to) changes and timely estimates. Follow through on change order reviews and obtain approval so they can be billed.
  • Planning of work, material orders and labor.
  • Producing budgets for changes and processing them monthly for proceeds.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to jobsite by working with suppliers for bulk purchasing, jobsite warehouse, purchase orders, submittals, tracking and releases to maintain project schedule.
  • Regular interaction and collaboration with Superintendents, project Foremen, and office staff to provide consistent feedback and reports to the Group President.
  • Be dependable, on time, willing to invest the necessary time for success, and help where needed.
  • Contribute to group meetings and project meetings.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • 5+ yrs Electrical Project Management experience – hard bid & design build commercial electrical projects
  • Large commercial projects (3M+) experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and construction industry standards
  • Estimating experience, Accubid preferred
  • Proficient in Bluebeam
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as team environment

Job Duties:

  • Preparation of complete labor and material estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, contractual requirements, and client specifications.
  • Read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications as they relate to electrical work.
  • Develop comprehensive bid proposals, budgets, and scope summaries while identifying project risks and opportunities.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client meetings as required to gather project information.
  • Maintain current knowledge of material pricing, labor rates, industry trends, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Prepare and present estimate reviews to management, supporting pricing assumptions and recommendations.
  • Assist with project handoff to operations by providing estimating documentation, budgets, and scope details upon award.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction teams to clarify project requirements and value engineering opportunities.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction or related fields is desirable but not essential
  • 3-5 yrs as a lead electrical estimator.
  • 5-10+ Yrs in the electrical construction industry
  • Experience with large (3 million +) electrical construction projects and/or estimates.
  • Depth of knowledge with a wide variety electrical materials and methods of installation.
  • Strong Organizational and Leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as a part of the team
  • Experience with: Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of the N.E.C. and local codes.
  • Computer literate in common MS word and excel.
  • Able to do basic circuitry for power and lighting and layout on drawings.
  • Understands fire alarm system wiring methods and layout on drawings.
